Intelligent motion detection
Different from the conventional motion detection scheme, the SNC-RZ50's motion detection analyzes movement over the last 15 frames to detect only significant motion. It reduces false alarms from environmental noise such as shaking trees, waves or random noise from AGC (Auto Gain Control).
Intelligent object detection
An object that newly appears and stays more than 40 seconds in the selected scene can be detected as an "unattended object". This function can also detect an object which has been removed from the scene. There are three time settings for this function.
Anti-tampering
The SNC-RZ50 incorporates a security chip that generates a digital signature for a group of picture frames. The digital signature is encrypted with PKI scheme. By saving the picture frames and the digital signature in pairs in recording software, the software can prove that the picture is original (without any tampering) and received from a specific camera.
Dynamic frame integration
The SNC-RZ50P incorporates Dynamic Frame Integration to optimize the resolution for both stationary and moving subjects, while retaining high sensitivity. Traditionally field or frame integration can be chosen to optimise image capture of either stationary details or moving objects. The SNC-RZ50P uses frame integration and then dynamically assigns field integration mode only on the moving objects. In this way Dynamic Frame Integration reproduces bothe moving and stationary objects well, with higher sensitivity than for example progressive scan.
Spherical privacy zone masking
With Privacy Zone Masking you can mask unwanted or prohibited area within the sight to protect privacy. The masking locks on the designated spot even in PTZ control by 3-dimensionally tracking the position according to PTZ motion. Up to 8 masking can be set with SNC Privacy Masking Tool supplied in the CD-ROM from version 1.1 firmware.

Pan, tilt and 26x optical zoom
The SNC-RZ50 incorporates pan, tilt and 26x optical zoom capability to provide large field of view and a combination of overview and detail. With a pan and tilt speed of 300 degree per second, you can move to a desired area instantaneously. Up to 16 preset positions can be set with return accuracy of ±0.064 degree.
"Day/Night" function
With the use of Day/Night function, the SNC-RZ50 offers high sensitivity (Minimum illumination 0.3lx) and excellent visibility in poor and varying light conditions.
Multiple compression formats (JPEG, MPEG4, H.264)
Depending on application and available bandwidth on a network, you can select your optimum codec from above three codecs. Typically, the compression ratio of MPEG4 is approximately four times higher than JPEG, while H.264's compression ratio is approximately twice that of the MPEG4.
MPEG4 and JPEG dual encoding capability
The SNC-RZ50P can generate MPEG4 and JPEG images simultaneously. While JPEG stream can be recorded and monitored locally, where available bandwidth is sufficient, MPEG4 can be transmitted over the Internet even under limited bandwidth.
