Overview
The BVM-L231 is the replacement for the highly successful BVM-L230. The BVM-L231 incorporates several new enhancements to the Trimaster lineup including new optics, backlight drive and 3G input capability. The BVM-L231 offers all of the features that were available in the BVM-L230 including a LED backlight system and 12 bit video engine. The BVM-L231 not only achieves the quality of monitoring confidence our customers have come to enjoy with Sony's BVM-A and BVM-D series CRT monitors, but it also adds innovative features for today's new master monitoring needs. These include a newly developed color space selection function, a unique Picture and Picture display, and an interlace display mode to name just a few. The new BVM-L231 LCD master monitor comes equipped with DVI-D as a standard input. Optional input modules are available to add HD-SDI, SD-SDI, RGB/Component or Composite/Y/C inputs. Dual-link HD-SDI is possible when using two BKM-243HS in parallel. A total of four option slots are available and can be populated with any mix of the four available option modules. The BVM-L231 is controlled using the BKM-16R control unit. The BKM-16R control unit is also capable of controlling legacy BVM-D and BVM-A series CRT monitors as well as Sony's latest LUMA monitors, the LMD-2450W and LMD-2050W. The BVM-L231 incorporates Sony's TRIMASTER™ technology. The TRIMASTER technology is a design architecture used to bring out the full performance capabilities of professional flat-panel displays. It comprises the core technologies that enable the highest level of color accuracy, precision imaging, and quality picture consistency.

Features	Benefits:
New LCD Panel Opticals	A new design of the LCD panel system provides a 20% increase in contrast. In addition, the color shift that was common to the L230 is gone on the L231.
New Software V1.4	The fourth version of software for the BVM L series is installed on the L231 and will also work with the older L230 models. New features include the ability assign the color gamut settings to the input configuraiton which allows push button selection of SMPTE C, ITU-R BT709 or D-Cine color settings. Marker selection has also been moved over to the input configuration allowing you to assign marker sizes to different inputs.
HDMI Input	The BVML230 now comes with a built in HDMI input for critical evaluation of secured signal content. Now Blue Ray and DVD content can be monitored directly through a secured digital input.
New Blinking Backlight	The new blinking backlight design combined with the BVM's black frame insertion system displays fast moving images with next to no smear.
