Barndoor feature and
type:
They help create a 3-dimensional look to a lighting scheme by placing
light in a specific area, or by keeping it away. The more leaves a
barndoor set has, or the longer the leaves the more precisely the beam
can be controlled.

An Egg Crate is plastic that narrows the spread of light beam, and
alters the shape and intensity of the light output from your light
fixture, unless specified otherwise; an egg crate mounted on a light
fixture will limit the spread of light to 40° from the face of the
