Embedded stereo microphone is one of the audio feature improvements from the PD170P.
Although external microphone is not supplied for the P, trim level can be adjusted which enables to use various types of microphone, including the ECM-NV1.

“Analogue Input to DV Stream” function is dropped from the PD170P, which used to be a useful function when transferring analogue content to DV editing environment.

Instead of supplying external microphone, stereo microphone is embedded which is the same scheme as the Z1 and other competitor models.
